Medeliskiai transformer substation

A transformer substation is being built in Medeliškes, Marijampole district, which will be connected to the LITGRID 110 kV overhead line. The substation includes a 40 MVA 30/110 kV transformer for a 30 MW wind farm and a 26 MW power and 52 MWh capacity energy storage facility. The total allowable generation capacity at the connection point will reach 30 MW. The energy storage system will allow for more efficient balancing of electricity production, storage of excess energy and its use at the most favorable time. The combination of a wind farm and batteries increases the flexibility of the project, helps diversify income and strengthens its long-term value for investors.
